I tried doing a paypal donate button on my site. Seemed simple enough. Paste the code into the html section of an html module.

Doesnt work.

Can anyone tell me if they have implemented this?  And a step by step please.

The reason that PayPal's generated button script will not work is that ASP.Net does not permit multiple form elements on a page.

For simple PayPal donate buttons I use the "formless" technique describe by Mitchell Sellers in one of his blog posts:

 I looked at the article and I just dont really get it.  Here is the code i want to modify.

<form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick">
<input type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="myvalue">
<input type="image" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/bt..." border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!">
<img alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/scr/pi..." width="1" height="1">
form>

So what would the new code look like?

Here's the PayPal Donate Button markup added to a html module on one working site:

<p style="text-align: center"><img border="0" alt="BHS Logo" align="middle" style="width: 130px; height: 116px" src="/Portals/0/BHS New Logo 3.jpg" /> <br />
<br />
<input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick" /> <input type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="55555555" /> <input border="0" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/bt..." type="image" onClick="this.form.action='https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr';this.form.submit();" name="submit" /> <img border="0" alt="" width="1" height="1" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/scr/pi..." /></p>

Note that the value for the "hosted_button_id" input control will be that provided to your by PayPal when you configure your Donate Button. The keys to this approach working is that 1) You do not use a form element and 2) the value supplied to the onClick attribute.
