typically this happens when you use an install package by mistake and overwrite your existing web.config. Please check and make sure you didn't do this, and validate that the machineKey values in your web.config match those from before your upgrade (as they're used to encyrpt/decrypt user passwords)

Thanks for your reply,

The DotNetNuke_Community_05.05.00_Upgrade package doesn't include "web.config"

I only copy all the files that was in the Upgrade package.

So there is no change in the "web.config"

that's correct, the upgrade package should not contain the web.config (so it can't overwrite the existing one). I'm not sure why you can't log in then I'm afraid - please check that both connectionstrings point to the correct database

When you say that you "cannot log in with . . . or any other users" what exactly is happening?

Are you using the standard DNN login provider or another authentication provider such as OpenID or Active Directory?

When you click on the Login link do see the login control prompts for Username and Password?  or is their only a postback and redirection back to the same page?

If you are able to see the login control and enter Username and Password and then click Login what happens? Is there an invalid username/password message displayed?

What happens if you click on the Register link. Are you able to register as a new user?

Are you still able to view and navigate to other pages of your site and see the same content as prior to the upgrade?

From what prior DNN version did you just upgrade?
