I was dumbfounded to see that images don't display after upload in the new editor.  Have tried 5.1 & just tried 5.5.  Switching back to the FCK editor, uploading of images displays fine.  The image uploads ok as I can see it in the folder through windows, but does not display in the image manager in the ediotor.  Even refresh doesn't work.

I had a similar issue with one of the websites I support. A user was uploading a lot of images and then trying to create hyperlinks to these images. The problem is the Telerik editor takes it's 'manager' names to literally. The Document Manager is used to create hyperlinks, and it's configured only to look at what's considered a 'document' not images. You can change this by going into the directory 'Providers\HtmlEditorProviders\Telerik\Config' and changing the '' tag contents to include image file extensions. Personally, my advice is to stop using the Telerik editor. When I encountered this problem I was found (on Gemini) a 'Won't fix' for the issue because they said this was a Telerik product and I would have to get support from them. So I posted at Telerik and they said:

As to the reported problem: Please, note that version 5.4 or later of DNN uses the Professional provider of RadEditor, which is implementation of the DNN developers and it is not supported by Telerik. If you use the build provided by DNN Corp, my suggestion is to post your question in the DNN forums at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/tabid/795/default.aspx and ask the support of DNN for help.
Use the FCK editor, at least until DotNetNuke and Telerik actually decide who's responsible for this product. If a DotNetNuke employee happens to be reading this I can provide you a link to the Telerik forum thread where I was told this.

Excuse the double post. I meant "changing the 'DocumentManager.SearchPatterns' property tag ".

Thanks for the info zrowe.  I have switched back to the FCK editor, the only thing that annoyed me with that was the lack of style sheet in edit mode but I did some research and configured the skin style sheet for it and now all the styles display.  The Telerik editor is a good idea but like you said if there's problems with it I'd rather stick to what works.  It's less "fancy" but I find the FCK editor a lot quicker as well.
