DNN version 05.04.04; .NET 3.5

Thank you, Sebastian. The file permissions for our "assets" directory, which is the root directory that we want to be able to upload images and documents to, are set as you recommend. I have done a recursive sync, and the "Auto sync File System" is enabled. I am still unable to see a directory tree or any files when I try to use the RadEditor Image Manager, or any other manager (although in this discussion I will only refer to the Image Manager for simplicity).  I am logged in as a SuperUser, so I don't know if permissions are a part of my problem.

On the RadEditor Config page, I have set the "ImagesPath" to "/assets", and I have checked the ConfigFile.xml within the "dnnWerk.RadEditorProvider" Desktop Module folder and it has picked up this path properly as '<property name="ImagesPath">/assets</property>'. But still I am unable to see any directory structure in the Image Manager.

This is the same problem I had with the original RadEditor, and it seems to be the same problem that this DNN site is having itself; since clicking on the Image Manager button in the button bar, as I am typing this post, also shows the Image Manager with no directory structure. I am curious to know if you also see the Image Manager this way? I know my employer does, and they are not happy. I know that this missing directory structure has not always been a problem, since I was able to see the directory structure a couple of weeks ago, and I do not know what has changed to make this problem occur. Do you have any other suggestions that I could try, or should I switch back to the FCKEditor that we used to use a few DNN versions ago?

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb response, but did you try a different browser? Also, are you using the latest editor provider from codeplex? There has been some updates.

Is it just the images folder causing issues? Is there any issues with documents or media/flash folders in the editor? Have you tried creating another directory for images? Just throwing out suggestions...

ech01,

I have tried Firefox, IE and Chrome (all the latest versions). I just installed the new dnnWerk RadEditor from the codeplex site yesterday in the hopes that it would work better than the original version of RadEditor that I had been using, which also had this problem.

All of the managers which offer access to directories are affected: Image, Flash, Documents, Templates. I have tried using the default "Images" directory, as well as my custom "assets" directory. I have made sure that the letter-case used in the directory name matches what is in the ConfigFile.xml.

All permissions; in the DNN Host settings and on the directories at the server-level are set up properly as far as I can tell.

I would show a screen capture of what I see in the empty Image Manager dialog, but I cannot, because even this Forum's version of RadEditor's Image Manager displays without the directory tree--at least when I look at it. ech01, could you click on the Image Manager icon in the Forum's Rich Text Editor as you answer this Post and tell me if you see an empty Image Manager as well?

I have seen some other Posts which seem to indicate that this problem is happening to others as well. Some suggestions have had to do with Language settings, but I have not been able to get those to work either.

I really want this editor to work for us, but I am running out of ideas.

Kurt -

I noticed in the announcement for the new 5.5.1 release:
  • Fixed Telerik File Manager to make files stored using database folders visible to the user.
Not sure if that addresses your issue or not. It's a recommended upgrade anyways so may be worth the while to see if that fixes it. Also, if you have the Ifinity URL rewriter installed, try disabling that and see if the issue persists.

Eric,

Thanks, I'll do the update just in case. I still wonder if there is something else going on, especially since the issue seems to occur here on the DNN Forums, too.

Were you able to see a directory structure when you click on the Image Manager button here in the Forums?
