Hi All,
I've worked with the developer licensed version of the Telerik RadEditor for quite a while. I'm very familiar with the ConfigDefualt and ToolsDefault files and how to use them to customize various aspects of the editor. I thought I'd try using the DNN provider for the editor rather than the skin objects provided by Telerik.

Anyway, after creating my own versions of the ConfigDefault and ToolsDefault files, and referencing them in web.config, I thought I'd try upgrading my instance of DNN from 5.4.4 to 5.5.

The upgarde itself went fine btu what I noticed was the web.config file re-references the original default files rather than keeping the reference to the customized ones. I also notice that any changes made to EditorOverride.css, get over-written when upgrading DNN.

Does anyone know if this is by design, or perhaps an oversight somewhere?

Thanks.

DNN includes its own Telerik provider and unfortunately overwrites existing configurations on upgrades. Unless both providers are using same installation path, the previous provider and editor should not be affected. FYI: there is an advanced editor provider available for free download from radeditor.codeplex.com - you should give it a try :)

Sebastian,

I just installed the new dnnWerk RadEditor Provider. I like the fact that this new Provider has a config page that you can place under the host directory, but even with that, and with following all the directions in the documentations, I am still having the same problem with this RadEditor as I had with the original; I am seeing no directories or files in the Image Manager, Document Manager, Flash Manager, Template Manager, or any of the other managers. Do you have any input on how I should be setting up this editor so that we can access our directories and files properly?

please go to File Manager in Admin menu and check permissions. there need to be lock symbol for admin users and view granted to all users. next perform a recursive sync in top right corner. In Host :: Host Settings please make sure, "Auto sync File System" is enabled.
