I want to enable SSL on the logon page only.   I enabled SSL on my site by going to admin->site settings->advanced settings->ssl settings.  I selected to enable ssl, but not enforced.   I then change the settings on my logon page to use SSL.  After I do these steps, SSL is enabled across all my pages.  Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong?  Thanks!

you need to select enforce SSL in site settings, which will switch to SSL, whenever a page is configured to use it, and back afterwards. Make sure to use a dedicated login page, to use SSL for login and admin pages only.

FYI - Enabling SSL on a login page only is not the best idea for security. Only the transactions on that page will be encrypted. Once you navigate to another page, the cookies and authentication tokens will no longer be protected. This is a common way for hackers to hijack user sessions in places like coffee houses where there is open wifi. These days there is nearly no perceivable performance impact to enabling SSL on the entire website. If you're going to use SSL, do it for the entire site or don't do it at all.

I've noticed on DNN versions example 6.2.x that even after you enforce SSL on the entire site, you often have to go to individual pages and click the check box AGAIN on each separate page. Which is very time consuming for larger sites... sure SSL in forced but some individual pages are still not SSL.

What would be a sure fix to force SSL on all pages without developer having to go to every single page and clicking on the SSL check box under "page settings" again?

Not sure if this is a bug in DNNs as a whole but as mentioned... I've seen this in some instances of DNN. In-fact i ran into this just the other day when we thought we had fixed it.
