I need to call the client side api from either, javascript in the text/html module, or javascript in the skin. What I need to get is the logged in user name.

I know that the newest Text/HTML module supports token replacement, however I don't  (for some odd reason) have that version of the Text HTML module.

I'm currently on DNN 4.9.05.

Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks.

You should have the replace option available, you must enable it on a module instance by instance basis.  This is done via the 'Settings' for the control.
