Hi Folks,

I have seen this issue on the forum before but don't recall seeing a clear explanation about why it happens. Perhaps I missed it. I am getting occasional logout problems on a DNN 4.9.5 site. Sometimes clearing the cache works but sometimes it doesn’t. Using http://www.domain.com/admin/security/logoff.sapx doesn’t solve it. The last time I cleared the cache and closed IE 8 down completely that seemed to do it. I have only noticed it when logged in as host. How does this happen? Is there a fix for this? Does an upgrade to version 5 fix it?

Thanks for any enlightenment you can provide.

it might be an issue of a broken cookie, make sire to clear local browser cache.

 Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for the quick reply. I do clear the cache but it doesn't always work. The last time I had to close down the browser completely. Maybe this is a browser issue? Maybe clearing the cache doesn't always delete all cookies? I normally use IE 8. It definitely has its issues. I do test with other browsers but use IE 8 most of the time and during development. I doubt that any of us has time to debug MS software but just thought maybe someone had stumbled onto the reason something like this could happen.

Hi George, usually the browser should clear the cookie, but it might happen, that a browser does not behave properly due to a number of reasons (one of mine always re-installs a deleted font file). If you are using IE8, you might want giving IE9 beta a try - it is lightning fast and quite stable.
