I am just getting to grips with DNN 5 for the first time as part of an evaluation exercise for setting up a couple of websites for my new business, and I must say, I am liking it so far.
However, the more I use it the more questions arise, like passing parameter from one page/module to another page/module? For example, I am trying to set up a scenario where I have one page that contains a list (of products) having the name column set up as a URL link to another page (the details page). Now I can set up a new page for every product in the list and have the links pointing to each  page, but this is cumbersome and time consuming. What I would like to do is set up one page that all links will point to (all product details will have similar layout) and pass a parameter in the querystring so that the details page can access the id of the product, then extract the product details from the database based on that id before displaying the product details on the page.

This is the preferred way to do it as there will be more products potentially added over time making the maintenance for each product very onerous. My idea is to create a table in the database (or create a separate database) containing the product information, then create an XSLT sheet to format the XML returned from the database to display the product.

Any help would be appreciated.
