Hi,

I'm currently looking into the best way to accomplish the following and was wondering if anyone might be able to offer up some advice or opinions.

I currently have a test DNN install and a production DNN install.  The test install is a copy of the production one using the backup & restore technique.

What I would like to be able to do is edit the test installation, things like skins, modules, content and placements and then promote these changes to the production install without loosing or altering any users on the production install.  That's a very important point as we have several users that need to log in.

So, does anyone know of a way that this can be done?

Are people actively maintaining the production install? Or just making changes in Test? If the latter just do a backup/restore from test to production. You might also check out DotNetNuke Enterprise as it provides content staging features that the Community and Professional Editions don't.

I'm concerned that new users will sign up in the time that we ammend the site content/layout.

I'll have a look at PE and EE, but I don't think budget will be available for that.

Thanks for the help.  I think if we continue to use CE we'll just need to copy and paste.
