Hi;
I'm trying to find out what kind of data (and what substructure) is used by the Users directory which is a subdirectory of my root directory (/httpdocs/Portals/0/Users/...) It seems to contain several jpg pictures which are eating up room. I saw that a user's profile photo is also in there but i don't know how the database indexes into this. (help here is appreciated) The root question is 'how can users cause data to be stored here?' I would like to find out so that i can block it if necessary.
THanks for any help here.

I have found most of the information referred to in my origial question. However, one mystery remains: Who is userID -1? Almost all of the offending files are created by userID=-1. Help here is appreciated.

user -1 is unauthenticated user, i.e. anyone not logged into your site.

Thanks Sebastian. THat helps somewhat. Now the question is how can such a user cause image files to be saved in my file space? I played around a bit and see that one can download a 'photo' when registering. However, if the registration is not accepted, nothing happens to the photo. It stays in the User space. Looks like some kind of a bug. However, now come the question, how do i get rid of such an image? It is indexed in several tables, the Files table among them. I can of course, delete them directly from the database, but there should be a more correct way.

it might be that the file is uploaded to this space until the user got an ID, and if the user does not complete his registration, the image remains. you may remove the image files and perform a recursive file sync in admin file manager to get rid of it.
