Hello all. I'm trying to figure out the best avenue to support my client. Here are the nuts and bolts.

They own Company A, Company B and Company C

Company A has it's own website and is the governing body over Company B and Company C.

On the Company A site they want to be able to link to Company B and Company C.

So.. my thought was to create a DNN site for Company A, than create two child portals for Company B and Company C, but here is the kicker. They have a domains for all companies and want to point those domains accordingly. So... Company A has it's own domain, and will point as normal. They also want to be able to have the two differnt domains of the other two companies go directly to those portals.

Any suggestions if I am setting this up correctly.... and sorry this sounded more like a math logic question than anything else

Yes, you can have one DNN instance with child portal that also have fully resolved domain names.

The parent portal alias would be CompanyA.com

Each child portal the alias' would be:

CompanyB

  • CompanyA.com/CompanyB

  • CompanyB.com

  • CompanyB.CompanyA.com

CompanyC

  • CompanyA.com/CompanyC

  • CompanyC.com

  • CompanyC.CompanyA.com

the last one is optional [CompanyB.CompanyA.com], I'm just making the point.

You will get interesting search results when using ComapnyA's search

hope this helps

Marcel

Awesome, thanks for your thoughts.

Now, if I could get by this pesky "The child portal name you specified already exists. Please choose a different child portal name" I will be well on my way.

Thank you again.
