Hi all,

Im running DNN 4.9.5 and have had a search issues for some time - not exactly sure when it appeared but it has stumped me (apologies in advance if I have missed the solution already in my numerous DNN forum searches)

When I perform a regular site search I get the following error.

Module Load Warning
One or more of the modules on this page did not load. This may be temporary. Please refresh the page (click F5 in most browsers). If the problem persists, please let the Site Administrator know.

I check the Event Log and find a Module Load Exception with the following details

InnerException: The file '/DesktopModules/SearchResults/SearchResults.ascx' does not exist.

Message
: DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: The file '/DesktopModules/SearchResults/SearchResults.ascx' does not exist. ---> System.Web.HttpException: The file '/DesktopModules/SearchResults/SearchResults.ascx' does not exist. at System.Web.UI.Util.CheckVirtualFileExists(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResult(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(String virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.InjectModule(Control objPane, ModuleInfo objModule, PortalSettings PortalSettings) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I have checked for SearchResults.ascx and the only place it exists is within the folder \wwwroot\admin\Search  - there is nothing in \DesktopModules\ regarding searching that I can see.

I have a hidden page called Search Results which all users can see and this page a single instance of the Search results module installed.

In addition I have upgraded the site from 4.9.5 to 5.6.1 (via 5.4.4) on my staging box as a test but this has made no difference to the search error nor installed any new folders related to the searching. The Search modules shown are still version 1.0.0 if that helps??

Any ideas or pointers would be most appreciated....

Many thanks in advance,

Chris
