I'm assuming that you are using version 4.xx or 5.xx of DotNetNuke and not a version earlier than 4.3.7.

It appears that the version of ASP.Net framework specified for the application pool in which the site is running has been changed to ASP.Net 1.1. DotNetNuke versions 4.0.0 to but not including 5.2.0 require ASP.Net 2.0 while versions 5.2.0 and above require ASP.Net 3.5 SP1. Versions 5.4.4 and above can also use ASP.Net 4.0 if available.

Correct, V5.

I had ASP.net set to v2.0 and I change the application pool to v4.0 then restarted the website but nothing has changed.

I've read a little about this issue on the internet and have come across some security policies that needing changed. I was able to find under gpedit.msc / Local Computer Policy / Computer Configuration / Windows Settings / Security Settings / Local Pllicies / User Rights Assignment / Allow log on locally... Administrators Backup Operators and Users were all allowed. However my web server is not a domain controller so I cannot set domain policy.

Would this have to do with a recent windows update?

Thanks for your help again.
