I'm an admin user who has noticed that files sometimes get locked during updates to content. Usually the changes are saved but there's some sort of temporary file DNN is trying to delete but can't because it's locked. Here's the event log message. My host/superuser says this is common with DNN and web farms. If this is truly the case, is there anything that can me done?

Hi,

you may have a look at that previous post where I listed all kind of issues we had with web farming setup and the corresponding workarounds.
File locks were part of them.

In the mean time, we recently released a distributed caching provider, which you could use to switch module caching to memory instead of the file provider.

Cheers

Jesse
