I am trying to create a rule with URL Rewrite for DNN and I can't seem to get it to work right. I am trying to set mydomain.com to redirect to www.mydomain.com. I have a canonical host name rule that should make everything www.mydomain.com but it doesn't seem to work. Also, I've tried creating a custom rule to do a 301 redirect from mydomain.com to www.mydomain.com and it doesn't seem to work. I continue to get  "Page Not Found" when going to mydomain.com.

If you have access to IIS it's easy to setup the redirect there.

I do that with DDN.  I login with the Host account and goto Host Settings - Advanced Settings - Request Filter Settings and there I add a New Rule.  For example:
Server Variable HTTP_HOST
Operation Equal
Match Value HARTCOUNTRYFARM.COM
Action PermanentRedirect
Value http://www.hartcountryfarm.com
Hope this helps, Greg

Just to note - this is a redirect and not a rewrite.   It's important to have the terminology correct so others understand the problem.

As advised, you can do this in IIS.  The latest versions of DNN also have a 'primary portal alias' function which allows you to do this.

Actually, according to the rewrite module it is a rewrite that redirects. I have applied these rules within IIS using the URL Rewrite 2.0 module but it doesn't work.
