Hi all,

When I try to upload a file of 10 mb then it is showing error, even I have set the file size in web config also as 30 mb, but still it is showing the following error..   Pelase guide me how to over come this I am using DNN 4.6 THe client is having some requirement to upload large files.....

Server Error in '/' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

If you follow the instructions on the message you will then get a far more explicit error message, and that might lead to a solution.

Can you run the site at all?  If so, the error [explicit] should also appear in event log, and in the database as a last resort.

In addition to following Robert's advice to get the more detailed error message, please post your web.config's <httpRuntime> node so I can see what values you have for the maxRequestLength and the requestLengthDiskThreshold attributes. Unless you have an internet connection with lots of bandwidth for uploads, you may also need to add an executionTimeout attribute with a value higher than the default of 110 seconds. For uploading mp3 audio files of 7 to 10 MB I have found that an executionTimeout of "300" (seconds) was also necessary.
