DNN 5.6.2   Have exported and imported portals many times...

Exported portal0 to a template.  No errors. On import it gave me a "Not valid Template" error.

Long story short; changed line 6 of the template file from:
'
<userregistration>-1</userregistration>

to:

<userregistration>2</userregistration>

Did this because that seemed to be the only difference with templates that worked.  It then worked flawlessy...

Why did the -1 get saved when 2 is needed.  What is this value for??

No urgency; I'm fixed but know not why...

-1 is usually representing a Null value and might result in an error, if a required setting has no default defined.

Thanks Sebastian; as always you are most helpful.   It certainly does result in an error, but on import...

Peculiar, but it appears that when I export a portal template while logged in as host [obviously], it depends on from where I logged in as host.  If I log in thru a portal other than 0 (i.e. a child in this case) the exported portal has the -1 instead of 2 in the <userregistration>

I don't have time to experiment fully right now but  just did an export that imported perfectly and that was all that differed...

What a wonderful feature the portal export/import is, particularly w/content...  Wish ALL modules (eg, third party) were compliant...

Again...  5.6.2 CE is where I'm at.

Forget the red-herring previous...

Corrupt entry (-1) in Portals table...   Go figure; I'll never know why...

Robert, please make sure that the error get logged in the issue tracker at support.dotnetnuke.com, this is the only chance to get it fixed in a future version.
