I am trying to remove the following :Render Mode" at the bottom of the text editor / html module, I find it very confusing for registered users of the site, I searched all of the files for the radio buttions or any reference in both the rad editor, html module and the website but no luck. This feature if I remeber correctly has been since the early days of DNN,  regardless of the text editor installed.

I found the solution, in the file \controls\texteditor.ascx

change the value of  Visible from True to False

you can do this by applyin a custom config -see http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Telerik-Customization.aspx (it's much easier in 6.0 as theres a UI and you can simply uncheck the unwanted options)

Thanks for your reply, Im aware of the dnnWerk RadEditor Provider, have installed it on my 5.+ version ever since it was first released. I am now using version 5.6.2. It is an awesome tool. Looking forward to use it on version 6 when I upgrade my portal

I believe the issue I referred to, is not related to the provider, but rather to the text editor core, because this specific feature has been with all editor providers and no reference to it in any of the xml or js files. Hence beleive it is a legacy feartue.

A vital feature that is missing from the customization is limiting the number of characters, this is important as I am running a Job Listing section (using the Repository Module) and it has been difficult to manually trim down posting content when it exceed the limit.

There has been some JavaScript workaround but they are messy and difficult to implement. A very useful feature has been the StripFormattingOptions, it seamlessly strips all the formatting and leave the content intact.
