I am a game designer, and I'm wanting to use the player's website username and password as their game logins. This way they have a unified login and can access all the games they are authorized for through the site.

I've found where the username and password are stored in the database (dbo.aspnet_membership), but can anyone tell me what method is used to encrypt the password so I can perform the same function in the games.

Thanks.

the default authentication scheme (forms authentication) leverages microsofts membership provider, specificially the sqlmembership provider - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.security.sqlmembershipprovider.aspx . It contains the functions to access passwords.
