Maybe someone else has done this, but I am looking to extend the page settings to include some fields that I can use in a skin. Something along the lines of "Page Text" .

I have a pretty stylized part of my skin that I just want the admin to change the text, and not have access to the full editor. Just supply the text, and have the skin style it. The setting would only be on page level, and the setting text would be sucked into the skin. I think a module would be too clumbsy (add a module, choose the correct container, go in the editor and style etc...)

Thoughts? Ideas?

I'm not sure what's your problem but you can define an edit skin in Admin>SiteSettings>Appearance

@psdtodnn

he is referring to somethign i would love to see in DotNetNuke myself  , custom tab properties - same as we have custom profile properties.

Right now we ahve smallimage and big image but it would be ver handy ( for skin developers amongt others ) to be able to define our own

So in this case "myspecialpagetext"

and then you could include that in your skin with something like

<h3><%=tabsettings.getcustomvalue("myspecialpagetext")%></h3<

which would realy help out

Very cool idea. I'd never thought of it but this makes a lot of sense. I've twisted Page.Title, Page.Icon and other things so much in the past to make things look" right" but adding custom tab properties would provide a lot of design options.

 Exactly what I'm looking for. I could use a module, but I'd rather not give the ability of the admin to mess up the look by choosing the wrong module or container.
