also make sure, debug is turned off in web.config.
please clear your event log (and make sure, the database table is empty), maybe there are rows with invalid content.

Hi Sebastian - the debug was already set to false and I cleared the event log (double checking the table was empty too) but this has not done anything. I have sent an email to the skin developers to see if they have had similar issues...

Thanks again,

Andrew

Had a reply from the skin developer. The issue cannot be a skin issue as the same problem occurs for the Dark Knight skin that comes with DNN installation. Also, I am able to add a Role to the site, which again would indicate it is not a skin issue.

Does anyone know whether a setting in Host, Page or Module settings would cause this issue of not being able to add a user??

Hi , I have the similar issue. I am using the DNN 6.01.01 . I can login through host but unable to add new users. In the event log it shows the following exceptions.

The conflict occurred in database "SO-Upgrade", table "dbo.Users", column 'UserID'. Can some one help ?
Thanks in advance.

Your error log looks different to mine...

My problem appeared to "resolve itself" - I left the site alone for a few days to come back and find I could add a new user. It was totally frustration trying to resolve the problem and not much help given from DNN unfortunately - it was not the skin as they suggested! I can only assume there are some bugs in the software making it temperamental...

Sorry I can't be of any more help!
