I have a few questions regarding RadEditor in DNN Prof. 6.0.0 that I hope someone can help me with.

Is the htmlEditor as specified in my web.config (<htmlEditor defaultProvider="DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider">) the Telerik editor in a DNN wrapper ?

I performed a clean install (no upgrade) of DNN 6.0.0, but the ConfigDefault.xml and ToolsDefault.xml are not present as they were in the DNN 5.6.3.  The RadEditor as currently configured does not display all the functionality on the toolbars that I need - specifically the image and media tools.  Having utilized Lee Sykes'  video to configure the 5.6.3 version, I expected the config process to be the same in 6.x.  Has the configuration customization method changed in 6.x ?  I looked at the module settings but did not see where they could be manipulated.

Any help/insights on this are appreciated.

Thanks,
Duane

Hi Duane,

You manage any editors you have installed via the new Host > HTML Editor Manager in DNN 6. You use that to set your editor of choice and configure the editor toolbars (no need to amend your webconfig file).

The TelerikRadEditor is separate to the new DNNRadEditor, which I recommend using.

That said, you may find the HTML Editor Manager is absent from DNN 6.0.0, I know it was left out of the upgrade, not sure about the install version. I believe upgrading to DNN 6.0.2 should include it but you should upgrade in any case as it fixes some bugs.

besides, there is an active project for intagrating ckEditor (dnnckeditor.codeplex.com), which provides ML support and European data protection standards.

I have upgraded 6.0.0 to 6.0.2 as suggested, but I still do not see the HTMLEditor Manager.  The web.config after the upgrade still specifies 'htmlEditor defaultProvider="DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider" '... must this be manually overridden to utilize the TelerikRadEditor ?  If so, is there a documented process I could follow ?
Thanks again-
Duane
