I do understand in upcoming releases this, what I am about to ask, may happen but I want to get this project underway asap.

I am a novice in programming but have got to a reasonable standard using VB.net.

I have created a Facebook App, which is embedded from my DNN installation, now at the moment it collects no authentication information from FB.

Having tried a couple of 3rd party modules, none of them work in this scenario.

How can I do what other apps on Facebook do, you go to app and it requests your permissions to collect data. Once I have that data I can make a user, I wrote that code and Wiki'd it already!!

Tried reading the documentation, but some complex, just the right code samples and I'm sure I'll be away

Hi Mark,
How are you embedding you Facebook App in DotNetNuke? I'm guessing you are using an iFrame. If that is the case, I don't think you will be able to accomplish what you want to do. Reason being that even though you have Facebook embedded in your site, it is still a separate site. I would suggest looking into Dynamic Login which has support for Facebook Authentication. This would allow you to capture the user data and create an account.

Hope that helps.

There is a floor in my plan but I think I can solve it with some clever Ajax, working on it!!

Anyone know the best vb.net example of JSON
