Hi,

I'm just wondering if there was a way to automatically redirect people from .asp to aspx page instead of showing a 404?

In my case, when people reach http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Intro/At-A-..., it goes to a 404 page. But I'd like to automatically redirect them to the correct http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Intro/At-A-... page.

Is this possible?

Thanks very much in advance.

I would recommend using something like iFinity's URL Master to setup 301 redirects from your "old" urls to the "new" [corrected]

Just curious...why do you have asp page inside your DNN installation?

Thanks for the suggestions. Last time I used URL Master, it changed all my url to uppercase for some reason.

Is there any other way you can think of that might help?

The reason I need this done is because I've got hundreds of links to my site use .asp everyday (according to google analytics).

So if I understand you correctly those links are pointing at real ASPX pages on your DNN site...but someone left off the 'X' in the link?

If so you could look into something like this:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5317615/map-an-asp-url-to-an-aspx-httphandler-module (please  note this example on stack is not functional, but it might lead to other solutions)

Otherwise if those links are completely different from the new pages and you're essentially migrating old pages to new I still think you should consider url master...I know you can control the case of the urls.

URL Master needs some adjustments in the web.config that you may mess up and shutdown the whole site. It didn't work for me at all. The best module I got was DNN Dynamic Redirect. it's easy and user friendly. You can also insert records in to the table that the module installs if you have large number of sited to be redirected.
