I need to hide or move the LOGIN links in the top right hand in a DNN6 website as the site I am building is not for a user portal but for a simple product/services marketing presentation.

I have searched a lot on the Internet and cannot find a simple way to do this. I have managed to deactivate the REGISTER link but the LOGIN link is still there.

The only references I seem to find searching the Internet is to hack the skin. Is that really what needs to be done in order to hide this module from the general public or at least to move it to the footer at the bottom of page?

You can edit (or "hack" as you put it) the skin file to move or remove the LOGIN skin token from the skin. Another option is to modify the CSS style used for the Login token to set display:none. You'd need to view the source of your page to find the class or ID of the login token and modify the CSS via Admin, Site Settings.

"Hack" the skin is not the right word. I would suggest that you make a copy of the skin and modify it to suit your needs. Creating a customized skin is the preferred way to build your site.

You can "remove" the login link by going to Site Settings and changing the Registration Mode to "none." This will still display the user name when someone has logged in, but will not display the register link. If you want neither, just remove the User skin object from the skin. If you keep it, you can place it anywhere that you like.
