We have a new site that exists in a subdirectory of our current site http://cpl.org (which lives in just htdocs) -- the new site is http://cpl.org/ocb (htdocs/ocb) There is currently an old live version of this new site on another server at http://ohiocenterforthebook.org

So, when setting up the domain in IIS 7.5 I created a new site and setup the bindings as I have for many other sites in the past ... I browse the server and point the new site to to htdocs/ocb

I've changed my host file to test the domain on the new server, since the DNS work has not yet been done because we don't want to switch from the old site to the new site until we're sure the new site is working, and I get the following error when I try to go to the site in a web browser:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Compilation Error

Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.

Compiler Error Message: BC30822: 'Null' is not declared. 'Null' constant is no longer supported; use 'System.DBNull' instead.

Source Error:

Line 6: Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Line 7: Line 8: Dim DomainName As String = Null.NullString Line 9: Dim ServerPath As String Line 10: Dim URL() As String

Source File: D:\inetpub\www.cpldnn.com\htdocs\ocb\Default.aspx    Line: 8

Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.4927; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.4927

Our project manager told us to try just pointing to the site URL rather than browsing for it on the server, but I don't see a simple way to do that in IIS 7.5 -- When setting up the site I only see that you can browse to the directory. Any help with this would be great!

based on your compiler message you're attempting to run the site under .net 2.0 version -DotNetNuke has required .net 3.5sp1 since 5.2.0, so please install that version (or change the application pool to .net 4.0) -this will then allow the code to correctly background compile and work as expected.

I've just gone into our new site which, again, is a sub-site of our current site which is running fine, and I went into "Edit Aplication Pool" just for Ohio Center for the Book and I changed it from .Net Framework Version: 2.0.50727 to .Net Framework Version: 4.0.30319, but I'm still gettnig the error reported. You said we might be on an outdated version of .Net but would our current/main site cpl.org still be running properly if things were off?

Also, note that http://cpl.org/ocb is working, on the same server, we just can't seem to point to it in IIS using bindings for the domains. I only see the option to define a physical path to a directory when I go into "edit bindings." This is the advice someone gave me, but I'm not sure how I would do it in IIS 7, "...the issue seems to be occurring because the route \htdocs\ocb doesn’t exist, it’s virtual (DNN).The solution should be to set the headers for those URL’s in the CPL server."

Sorry, I meant to say I only see the option to define a physical path when I go into advanced settings for the site, not when I edit bindings.
