Since upgrading my site to 6.2.1 (from 5.6.3) I now have a lot of trouble with Firefox getting hung up indefinitely while trying to load pages. The status bar says "Transferring data from www.google-analytics.com" and it stays that way with only a blank white page - nothing else loads, and it stays like that. If I stop the pageload and refresh, it usually comes up... only to happen again the next time I request a new page. This is only in Firefox, and only since the upgrade. I have been using Google Analytics on the site for years.

Google for this problem in general and you'll find all sorts of people reporting it, and all number of proposed solutions - from browser addons (not an option obviously - I can't tell my users they need a browser extension to use my site) to modifications/hacks on the embed script that loads the Analytics code.

Problem is I don't know where or how Google Analytics is applied to the site in DNN. I see the file GoogleAnalytics.config in the Portal root, and I know that deleting that file will disable GA for the site - but I don't want it disabled. I want it working.

Anyone else with this problem? Any solutions? Any tips on where I can find the file that's adding the GA script to the site, so I can fiddle with it? I searched this forum but there is oddly nothing about this from anyone else.

Thanks in advance!

Can you clear your Firefox temp files and cookies and everything ?

And try again.

I could do that, but I don't want to assume the problem is local or specific to my browser. I don't use Firefox myself except for testing, so it's not too loaded down with cookies or customizations. In other words, it's not so far off from what I can expect my users are running.

I want to be sure this problem isn't going to affect all my Firefox users before I focus on fixing my own instance. (Right now I've got the site in private beta so it's not affecting my users, but it's on the same web server.)

I tell you that since i have seen that happen to me. CORRUPTED cache files from Firefox was the problem.

Try also Chrome. Same problem ?

All's fine in Chrome and IE (probably the first time I've ever said *that*). I did just run around our office and tried the beta on several other FF installations and the site is loading fine for them. At this point I'm comfortable assuming the problem is on my end and not with the site itself, so I'm satisfied at least from a webmaster perspective.

However, I did just delete all cookies and cache data in my own FF and the problem persists for me. Now I'm looking for a solution so that I have it ready when other users call with the same issue, but I'm confident at least that it won't be all my FF users.
