Hi All --

I have moved my DNN 6.1.2 web site from localhost to a hosted web site.

I have manually patched PortalAlias.HTTPAlias column value and changed web.config's MS SQL backend connection strings. And everything works fine now except GettingStarted.aspx  standard DNN setup page, which has an HTML module titled "DotNetNuke® Community Edition" wrapped into "Host: DarkKnight - Banner" skin contaner. This module has several <a> elements with contents as the followiing:

<a title="Explore DotNetNuke" target="_blank" href="http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Intro/At-A-Glance.aspx"><img alt="Explore DotNetNuke" src="/portals/0/Images/DNN/DNN_SkinPanels_red_platform.jpg" /></a>

...

On localhost images are displayed and rolled properly but on hosting site images are not available when relative links are used - they get only available when relative images' links are changed to the absolute ones.

I guess I should have additionally patched some other DNN's MS SQL back-end db tables or some DNN Setup settings somewhere?

Could you please advise - where?

Thank you.

Sounds like the paths are different between your localhost and hosting company. Ensure your hosting company has the same file paths.

I suggest going straight to your production or live site and avoid trying to edit DNN locally first for this exact reason. Since DNN stores changes, you can always roll back to prior content if you make a mistake or need to restore something.

Hi Mark --

Thank you for your reply, yes, I'm now editing/developing web site contents/pages directly on hosting site. But this is still a working/temporary version of the site - and it will be moved later on another live web site. So I have to know how to do that move safely to not get *relative* links broken.

The links I mentioned used in HTML module are relative, and I guess there should be somewhere within DNN setup/its backend DB a global anchor/root URL setting specified to be used in building on runtime an absolute link by concatenating anchor/root head part and relative URL tail part?

Thank you.
