I've been browseing the forums on how to configure DNN to use an exchange server for sending emails, but have had no luck. Is it possible or am I chasing a ghost?

I see where to set up SMTP, but not a exchange server. I tried emailing myself using the feedback module and nothing came through as expected. What did you do to get your DNN to use your exchange 2003 server?

First can u send a email through exchanges web interface. Main reason why i ask is if you can is if you have a MX record setup and is working.  If that works then check on your dnn host settings that is setup to point to your internal ip and not the mx record.  EG if internal server ip is 192.168.1.1 then put that in. Depending then on the smtp connector relay settings you can have unathenticated or authenticated.

Basically there is no exchange setting only a smtp setting in dnn that i found so all you need to do is configure the exchange smtp connector to allow relaying from internal address.
