i need to create a custom role so that users in the role can VEIW ONLY and not be able to edit any data.  I was able to do this on earlier versions of dnn but cant seem to find it in the new version.

From Admin > Security Roles > Manage > Add New Role

Then make sure the pages/module have View access to the newly created role and not Edit access.

I get that working, but what i need is to be able to restrict a USER to veiw only. When i add them to the page premissions it puts them to be able to veiw and edit (lock symbols on these settings) no matter what  I do. Sorry about saying it was a role, my kids were bouncing around when i was sending the other post.
