Hi,

I'm having a problem with linking a pdf file via document manager in a HTML module.

here's the error I get:

Domain Name www.mywebsite.be/Portals/0/mydocument.pdf Does Not Exist In The Database

What happens is:

1. The file exists on the server

2 When I click the file in filemanager, it downloads

3 in the HTML code the address to the link is correct

4. Older PDF files are working, but when I upload the same PDF again, under a different name, again it doesn't download. So it is not the PDF document itself. Also on another DNN site this new PDF document does download.

I'm using version DNN 05.06.01.

Thank you for any help with this.

Also, make sure you upload the file to the correct folder. I uploaded a file yesterday under the host option instead of the admin one and it didn't get uploaded to the correct folder. See if that's the issue.

Thanks, Mark for the input.

However, it's in the Admin portalroot folder (the same folder as other working PDFs).
Somehow when I link to recently uploaded PDFs (or .ppt files) it's just not finding the file.
If I try to link it to a .jpg, there's no problem.

Also when I copy the link from the HTML editor to a browser it can't find the file.
Then again, when I click on the file in the Admin filemanager, it downloads without a problem.

I suspect it's a permission thing, but can't seem to figure it out.
