Hi

 My event log is filling up with errors like this:

These errors appear to be caused by the event log page itself.  But I have no idea why.

 Can anyone else shed any light on it?

actually it looks to be an invalid/corrupt piece of localization text on the test.aspx page - try setting ShowMissingKeys to true in web.config to see if that helps identifty the invalid content but you may have to attach a debugger to see what particular localization text request fails if that does not provide a clue
