You can also go to the Security Roles page in your Admin menu (control panel) to see a list of the Roles for your portal.

It sounds like you don't have an Administrators role from what you are saying.

Thanks everyone, that was exactly the reason why the script didn't work.  I had removed the administrator role a long time ago (due mainly to the fact that we use AD authentication here, and there was domain admins that were automatically mapped to site admins when they were not site admins) so I removed the role alltogether.

I added a new role called "SiteAdmins" and mapped these portal roles to this new role and all is right again in DNNland.  thanks to everyone for their help!
