I have added a custom favicon for my site, I enabled it through the admin section, and it works well. The custom favicon shows up correctly throughout my site.

However, whenever I click a link on my site that opens up a PDF file within the browswer, the default DNN icon is displayed instead of my custom favicon.

I have cleared the browser's cache multiple times to no avail.

How do I prevent the default favicon from showing up in these  cases?

Thanks in advance.

it depends on the link to the file, if it is a lInkclick.aspx, portal favicon should show up, however, if it is a direct link to the pdf location, the link is not handled by DNN and the favicon cannot be adjusted.

PS: on a single web site installation, you may place your favicon inside the DNN root folder as well to bypass the limitation.

Thanks for the reply.

The links are not of type linkclick.aspx, and it is a single web site installation.

I will try placing the favicon inside the root directory. Thanks for your help.

OK so I placed my custom favicon in the root directory and cleared my browser cache. I also deleted the default favicon from the root directory, but the default DNN favicon is still showing up.
