I am trying make a small alteration to the message center module in DNN 6.2.0 to turn off the autocomplete feature because I don't want my users to be able to search for other users to send them messages. Because of the autocomplete feature, when a user begins a search there is a little drop down box that completes usernames that match the beginning of the search using autocomplete. However, I am running into problems trying to manipulate the jquery.tokeninput.js file to disable autocomplete (I know little javascript so clearly this is an issue).

I have tried the following two things to "pretend" to disable to feature.

1)I commented out the line: propertyToSearch: "name"

2)I changed the line: searchDelay: 300 to searchDelay: 100000000 in an attempt to delay it so long that a user would just give up on trying to have the system search for another username

However, doing either one of these things doesn't allow me to send a message to a username that I know exists. I click Compose New Message and type in the username in the Send To field and no search matches come up in the dropdown menu because of the changes I have made. It just says searching... However, when I click on the subject box, the username that I entered in the username disappears. Is it possible to disable the autocomplete but still have the username appear there when I click on the subject box?
