I was told the following by an SEO guy about my DNN 6.1 site:

The Google Sitemap feature outputs a .ASPX sitemap instead of an XML sitemap which is not useful at all for Google Webmaster Tools. They have a very strict outline for the sitemaps they'll accept and they must first be in XML format.

Is this the case? If so, how can I remedy this? Is 6.2 different? Thanks!

In my experience the extension on the sitemap makes no difference, the content of the sitemap is still in the XML format, and Google handles it like any other sitemap.

Hi, I have been experiencing exactly the same problem with 6.2 and cannot get anyone to help me. Google just spits out the sitemap saying it is in HTML and not XML and wont except it. I need to get it accepted for my client. What am I to do. Is there a fix for this?
