I have an old DNN site that I need to log in as the portal administratior for, but I haven't done so in so long that I can't remember the user name.  I left it to default to the automatic user name.

This is an old DNN v3 or 4.

Hi, if you mean you didn't change the default login credentials directly after creating the portal, then try login: admin and p/w: dnnadmin.

The way it was set up was that there was an overall portal administrator account, and using it one could create new sites and delete existing sites (sites that could coexist in the same DNN installation).  It was a superuser account.

In which case try login: host and p/w: dnnhost. If you did change the credentials then I believe that means a database hack.

Bingo!

Which is to say: Yes, that was it.  "Host"  -- how could I forget.

The scary thing is, the password reminder sends asterisks instead of the actual password (for "host"), but after a few tries of the passwords I would likely use, I got in.

Thanks for the help!

Mike
