Just wondering if anyone has any good links or references of how to share users across multiple portals.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

This is something I look after for a long time... I always solved it with some SQL scripts, but they only work for the case that all portals share the same installation and database - and running SQL scripts always generate an "unsecure" feeling for me - doing something the core or API or interface does not directly provide.

Best wishes
Michael

users will be shared automatically across websites inside a single DNN installation, if registering for each website using same username and password.

Well, I know that. But the user normally does not. So what would be nice would be an administrative (host) tool to assign users to portals and specific roles inside these portals (beside the "Registered Users" and "Subscribers" roles) after the user has registered for one portal.

Another nice idea would be a Membership Provider that centralizes all user registrations and delivers the credentials - eg via a Web Service. Wasn't there a project called "Noodles" somewhen?

Best wishes
