Hi,

I'm unable to send a test message from my portal. It's Ver. 6.2. Getting this error There has been an error trying to send the test email. The error is: The message was not delivered to the following address(es) - The SMTP on my Server 2008 R2 seemingly set all right. What is more. I run Moodle which is a PHP application on the same portal without any problem. Who can advise?

Did you check the SMTP settings under Host :: Host Settings? Does it work there if you send a test message? Is there some more detailled entry in the DNN Event Log and/or the SMTP log files?

Yes, I did. Actually this is where I get this error message coming. Never happened before as I have been using DNN for the last 6 years. Thus I can't enjoy automated messages going out of my portal though I need it badly...

Vladimir, please make sure SMTP server account has been configured properly in DNN host settings and also this account needs to be granted relaying in SMTP server configuration, in order to allow using a sender from a different domain as the SMTP account.

Thank you guys for your time. The problem was with the SMTP server which I failed to configure properly. (With IIS 7.5 you still need using IIS 6 for the SMTP :-() Now everything works just fine.

I want to congratulate you with this great software. I've been using it for 7 years now. It is reliable and robust.
