Hello,

We have a client that we're doing a new site for and they are coming from an older version of DotNetNuke where the URLs displayed the tabid in this fashion:

domainhere.com/contact/tabid/1646/Default.aspx

Since we are re-designing their site (also in DNN) i'd like to 301 redirect their old URLs to the new equivalents. So when somebody tries to access the new site with the above URL I want it to redirect to:

domainhere.com/contact.aspx

The old URLs are a problem since Google has them indexed and there may be bookmarks out there as well. I want to do a page-by-page redirection for each of the clients "old" pages to the new ones we are building now. There are only about 5 pages to redirect.

What's the best way to go about this? Examples would be useful.

Hi Josh,

We have implemented the 301 redirect solution for a project, please refer to this case study

We also developed a configurable HttpModule---"UrlRewriter" to handle the SEO solution.

Hope this help.

Hi Josh,

I faced a similar issue on my site and developed a custom httpModule as well.

I didn't see a link in the above post to download their solution, but if you are interested, I could share with you what I have done and perhaps move it to the extensions forge.

Here is what my config file looks like:

add oldurl="/Products.aspx" newurl="/modules"
