Hi again!

I'm having some issues with permissions not being picked up by modules, and so you need to log in to view pages.

If i manually set the 'all users - view permission' for a module, it works fine, but with 100 pages and 3 modules per page, this will take ages to check and set...

I've tried going to the root page of the affected site section and using copy permissions, and also going one level down and doing the same (there are 30 pages at this level), but still many modules stay hidden.

The modules are all set to inherit view permissions from page.

 Does anyone have any ideas?

 Many thanks

John.

if modules are set to inherit permission from page, it should result in getting granted view permission for all these modules. you might need to restart your application though, to become all changes visible instantly.

Hi, Thanks for the reply

I hadn't t6hought of restarting (!) I even use it fairly often..

But i just tried it and i get the same problem :-(

I have set some modules manually, and they are ok.

When i leave them as 'inherit from page' the page is visible, but the modules aren't

WHen i uncheck the inherit box, the view permissions are all left blank...

Is there a way to disable inheriting view permissions function? I feel i am missing something fundamental here...!

Thanks

John.

OK,I think i cracked it, it was fundamental!

it seems you need to have some content for it to show if it is an html module?
Many pages the client will be entering content so i left it blank for them,

Now if i add some text like "Content Required" it shows up!

Yes, that's correct. Simply adding a space will suffice as well.
