Hi all,

I'm trying to run a dnn site on my localhost. So I downloaded the site and the database and configured everything. When I try to run the site on local it redirects to the live site. I'm running localhost on IIS7 and the database is in SSMS 2012.

I have no idea where I should look for. Read some other forums where they mentioned to look in the PortalAlias table and change the HTTPAlias but I'm not quite sure what to change there..

Can someone give me a solution to run my site on the localhost?

Thanks

Look at the live site in Site Settings and see if you have specified a DefaultPortalAlias. If so, that's what's causing the redirect.

So, open up your localhost database using SQL Server Management Studio and look that the PortalSettings table. Find the row that hasPortalAliasMapping as the SettingName and change the SettingValue to None. Do this for PortalId equal to the portal id you are working with.

That should fix the problem.

Like Joe said, you have a table in the database with a portal alias that maps to your live site. That's causing the redirect.

Change it to locahost and you should be fine.
