Ive seen a few people mention the idea, but no solutions to this problem.

We have an external database (lotus notes) that we would like to use for authentication on dot net nuke.  It has been configured for LDAP and I had been playing around with my own custom membership provider.  It seems promising but I cannot believe there isnt a way to configure DNN to authenticate against anything other than AD through LDAP.

Was I right going down the custom membership provider approach or is there a simple web.config configuration setting that would solve my problem.

Thanks for the help,

Denis

Was this question ever answered?  I'm presently in the same boat.

Thanks!
