I've configured my DNN instance to use the email address as the user name, and so I have no need for the User Name field.
The User name field has been removed from the user registration process.
Also, I've set the unique email address flag in the web.config file for the site.

So, now when I go to request a password reset, I get both user name and email address fields in the pop-up dialog box.

My question is: How do I remove/hide the 'Username' field in the reset password request pop-up dialog?

Thanks.

Hi

FYI, when you use the retrieve password link, the popup opened will ask only for the username and the password will be sent to the email address you provided during registration. Checked in version 5,6,7.

Thanks,

kdeol,

this sounds like a bug, you should report it in Gemini. Anyway, to have a workaround in the meantime, please check if it is enough to fill the email field to retrieve a password, and if so, try to hide the username label and textbox using the stylesheet class. To find out this, use IE or Chrome Developer Tools or Firebug (depending on the browser you use).

Best wishes
Michael

Hi there,

This is not the case. Try setting the  'requiresUniqueEmail' flag for the AspNetSqlMembershipProvider membership provider in the web.config file.
When set to true you'll also get an email address field.

Thanks Michael.
Is this functionality something relatively new as I find it hard to believe somebody else hasn't experienced this before me!
