Hello ,

im facing with a  problem creating subdomain both as parent or child way .

MY IIS is under shared server using Parallels Plesk Panel 9.5 

I have the main portal under  portals/0 as per default.

Creating a new sub domain under "site management" -> "new site" using "parent" option i'm able to create it. The result is  : subdomain.domain.it  without a default page . Enabling directory browsing i can see that   folder Portal/2  is created for my new subdomain . But i cannot see any new default page . Trying to create  a new page for my sub domain  under pages menu i see only my default portal  and new pages menu show  me new pages for default portal only starting from the root i cant see my subdomain.  using switch tool to switch on new site produce only directory browsing because no default pages is create  during the setup

may be i need to use a different template or blank template during  the site creation ?

Creating Child site im facing on a different issue . ALias name already exist when i create first the folder to assign to my new sub domain . IF  i remove the folder  i try first to create subdomain directly to DNN it give me access right issue ; i also try to create folder httpdocs/mysubdomain   with relative path = mysubdomain ;after that i went to my plesk panel to give access right to IWPD IIS USER  = full acces to mysubdomain folder. During the new site creation i receive ever the same error . i cannot access to my folder httpdocs/my subdomain ... 

To summarize : why in my parent site is not create a default page ? why in my child site  if  I create a virtual directory  the alias name already exist and if i create a simple folder i cant access it also with full access right ?

on my parallel plesk panel i have selected my domain then subdomain menu and then i can choose 2 options  

Physical hosting
Subdomain on subfolder

i choose subdomain on subfolder because for my understanding physical hosting should create a new httpdocs and new IIS appl pool and if i'm right  require a new dnn installation ...

choosing subdomain in subfolder i used as home dir :

in child subdomain scenario :
httpdocs/Portals/X

in parent subdomain scenario :
httpdocs/mysubdomain

but without luck as described before.

I received same suggestion from my host provider :

I have reset/cleared  my previous subdomain and starting now from fresh situation .

ON my plesk i have create a new DOMAIN alias for my main site  

my domain alias on plesk panel are:

mydomain.it
subdomain.mydomain.it

on DNN  im connected with HOST user account and I have create  a new site

with this parameter 

alias :   subdomain.mydomain.it

desc:  mysubdomain

template : default

 After some minutes DNS aliases was sync and now it works fine
