Hello,

I need some help configuring the RadEditor. I apologize if this has been covered before.

So when I log in as the host, I go to host>HTML Editor Manager and there I can see the a drop down to select the provider and a tree list of configurations. The tree consists of "Default Configuration" and a sub "Everyone". What I was want to know is if it is possible to add a different configuration setting for the registered users on my site? I would like to have a stripped down version for users other than the admin and host. I hope that this is possible. Thank you.

lapollonio,

yes, this is possible. You can copy the default configuration and assign it to specific roles or pages (eg. if you want only a subset of the controls on your forum).

Best wishes
Michael

This is terribly limited.
There are only (2) true Roles you can assign one to:  "Registered Users" and "Administers".
The only other "role types" you can assign is Host Users and Everyone.

We should be able to pick our own Roles, but we are frustratingly limited by what DNN thinks we should use.

Indeed, Brad you are right, it is frustrating one can only have the default roles of the DNN installation, the Host added security roles are not visible.

 I had a look at the ProviderConfig.ascx (although I am not a coder)

and found the following:

 <div class="dnnFormItem">
                    <dnn:Label ID="lblMode" runat="server" resourcekey="lblMode" suffix=":" />
                    <asp:RadioButtonList ID="rblMode" RepeatDirection="Vertical" runat="server" CssClass="dnnFormRadioButtons">
                        <asp:ListItem Value="" Text="Everyone" />
                        <asp:ListItem Value="Registered" Text="Registered Users"/>
                        <asp:ListItem Value="Admin" Text="Administrators" />
                        <asp:ListItem Value="Host" Text="Host Users" />

<asp:ListItem Value="My Security Role" Text="My Security Role" />
                    </asp:RadioButtonList>
                </div>

I did add my security role, it did not break the page and was visible in the HTML config setting page, but could not add any custom setting to the Host added security roles (by the copy method)

If one has a way to have it work that would be great
