I have a client that attempted too many logins unsuccessfully and is locked out. The "Unlock Account" link on the "Manage User Credentials" page doesn't work nor does the "Change Password" button on the "Manage Password" page.

I am using IE10 and IE10 compatibility mode. I also logged in using the Chrome browser. Can I get some help in figuring out and/or fixing this problem?

Hi,

One thing you can do if you have access to the database is go to the aspnet_Membership table and update the IsLockedOut column for the user to 0.

Other than that, sorry without being there and seeing everything, other than maybe your user might not have permission to update, only view users.

Jacqui.

Darnell,

what Jacqui said, but you should login as host and clear the cache (using the option from the Tools menu) after doing anything in the database manually.

Best wishes

@Michael, Jacqi I unlocked using the database.

The buttons and links for changing or resetting password didn't work; no error message, no response. It's like the javascript is turned off or something. Other pages such as clearing cache from host settings worked just fine. Then I noticed a missing required field on the Manage Profile page and filled it. Now everything works. I would really like to know how that happened.

Thanks for your help guys!
