A lot of users of  a couple of my sites are having a problem logging in.  For one it says "Email Adress" but you enter it in and it does not log you in.  If you use a username it works.  It is very confusing setup I use FB login as well on these sites.  I notice the changes FB login did with entering some FB-00000990099090 number to actually putting their email address before the @ sign as username.

The problem is no one knows what the hello to do.  And it is confusing setting this up which use to be so simple now it is not working smooth at all for ease of use for a user and administrator.

Can anyone give me a full story on WTF is going on with DNN Login?

My preference is to allow users to enter a username OR email address whatever they remember along with a password to log in normally.  But if you can only use a user name why the hell does it say "Email Address".   My sites have died since...

Thank you.

I would assume that the Email login text is coming from the Facebook integration. I haven't worked with the FB integration in a while, so I am not positive on that part.

Do you have URL one could look at?

http://www.masoncountycommunity.com is a current project

Thanks for the support, I have been trying to make heads/tails out of the login and would love the CSS to keep it to a size instead of going accross an entire page as far as the text boxes with text over them. And also smaller icons, and the Google account if it is going to say text should be the same text or a similar one.

I would suggest putting one phrase like "Sign in or register using:" then 4 smaller icon buttons.

And for the logon / Registration forms to use the current skin options would be nice.

Thank you.

One last thing I noticed is when you log in with facebook and try to log out it is strange. Because if you use the same browser lets say and want to sign in using another account I have had difficulties. I do have a persistent cookie however if you log out it should and allow you to log in using even a different facebook account for people that are using the same computer.

Also I have "Use Email Address as Username" checked as on in site settings, however I dont think I can log in using an email address, and I can using a username.

I would LOVE to see it do both. Check both the username and email address fields for user authentication depending on what they enter. Yahoo is a good example of this.

It just really confuses users if you ever decide to switch it not knowing that old users will need to enter username still although it says enter email address.

It would be best if it said "E-mail or Username"
