I have a parent portal that I put the Active Forums module on.  Just today, i updated the site alias to use a child portal and I checked to create a child folder under the root.

When accessing the new site at the child portal address, I log in with a user that registered on the previous parent portal address and I click around, and it logs me out.  When I do the same with my superuser account, it doesn't do that.

I did use Fiddler to understand where I was getting a 302... and it shows on "GET /profilepic.ashx?userid=2407&w=50&h=50 HTTP/1.1" We did lose our profile pics when I switched to the child portal.  Could this be the reason?  I updated the profile with a new profile pic but it did not resolve the error.

Any suggestions?

Hi Tanya,

I had a problem with users(none admin) registered in a child portal being logged out of that portal even when just refreshing the page.

It turns out it was the custom error redirects I had put in because there were some missing images on the page. The redirects went to the parent portal to which the users where not registered so it logged them out. In the end I put the custom errors redirects to normal basic html pages that didn't belong to any portal so the dotnetnuke framework didn't get involved.
